Financial Support for Outreach

Caring is also expressed by us sharing our financial resources. Grace makes donations to organizations whose missions aligns with ours. We provide financial support to: North Dartmouth Outreach Centre Society which operates the “Food Bank” at Stairs; Camp Kidston, a United Church summer camp for children age 5-17; Phoenix House, and the Food for Phoenix program; Adsum for Women and Children, which provides emergency shelter, short and long term housing, programs and services for women, families, youth and trans persons; Bryony House, a 24-bed shelter for women and children fleeing intimate partner violence; Laing House, a drop-in centre for youth aged 16 – 29 living with a mood disorder, psychosis and/or anxiety disorder; Stepping Stone, which provides services and supports to sex workers (current and former), people at risk of entering the sex trade, and trafficked persons; Mobile Outreach Street Health, provides accessible primary health care services to people who are homeless, insecurely housed, street involved and underserved in our community; WISH -YWCA which is women in supported housing and SHYM-WYCA which is supported housing for young mothers; North Grove, a community hub in North Dartmouth that has children and family programming and a community food centre and farm; Dartmouth Learning Centre which provides free classes and one-on-one tutoring to help adults gain essential skills to live and work in a modern economy;and Dalhousie University Chaplain, and the Atlantic School of Theology.
